CR Culture

Culture + Community

CR’s culture is rooted in originality, talent, resourcefulness and fun. Our passion for what we do drives us to work hard, be the first to innovate a solution, and reach our full potential.

We carry this same passion outside of the office, striving to better our communities, not only with our designs, but with our time and actions. Whether it’s through buying and wrapping holiday gifts for families in need, building structures entirely out of canned food, or biking across the state of Ohio, we value serving others as well as taking time to enjoy ourselves. Here are a few examples of how we keep perspective and have some fun:

Pan Ohio Hope Ride

Each summer, the CRazy legs set out to tackle a 328-mile journey across the state of Ohio. This long adventure raises awareness for critical programs that help to research and fight cancer. The tour starts in Cleveland, OH, winds south through Columbus, and finishes in Cincinnati. Every cent that the CRazy legs raise – often more than $10,000 – goes directly to the American Cancer Society, supporting research, education, advocacy, and cancer patient services.

Kentucky Bourbon Chase

Those who favor running (or bourbon!) over cycling, can opt to join CR’s team that treks 200+ miles through Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail. Each runner takes on a few legs of the two-day race, which culminates in a celebration at local distilleries. In past years, CR’s team has included participants from its Cincinnati and Denver locations, bringing our offices together for fun and collaboration.

CANstruction Design Competition

Each spring, CR’s team competes in the CANstruction design competition. This event is an international community service project that allows us to give back to the community through our passion for design. Once built, the cansculptures are displayed as public art exhibits and judged by a local panel. In 2016, CR’s 9,562-can design won the Cincinnati Canstruction Jurors’ Favorite award and placed as third runner-up in the international competition. Prior to building the sculpture, CR kicks off Canstruction by hosting its annual Happy Hour Fundraiser, with past locations including Igby’s and Taft’s Ale House.

CR Spark

Spark is a monthly event that encourages employees to break away from their computers and ignite their passion for design. Past activities have included community design crawls, movie nights, and pumpkin carving – each fueled by snacks, libations, and lively discussion.

CR Vision

Each year, CR’s five offices join under one roof for a day of team-building activities, self-development, and open discussion about vision for the upcoming year. It’s an event that brings us closer together, celebrates our achievements, and refreshes us for what is to come.

Additional

Whatever excites you, there is an opportunity at CR. We enjoy professional activities such as our weekly lunch and learns and monthly vendor blenders just as much as we enjoy kicking back during new employee happy hours and intramural sports leagues. Client and consultant golf outings, attending baseball games, and flowing through poses in free yoga classes are just a few of the other activities our team partakes in. Our employees build our culture; our role is simply to empower them to do that in as many ways as possible.
