Developing standards for the future of Miami University's design

CR served as the Criteria Architect for this design/build project that includes the assessment of the existing structure for re-use and renovations of two existing residence halls on Miami University's Main Campus. In addition to performing as the Criteria Architect, CR prepared the Housing Renovation Design Standards that are to be used on all future residence hall renovation projects. The standards are based on extensive collaboration with University Engineers to integrate campus-wide infrastructure efficiency upgrades. Improvements to the buildings include major interior upgrades, new interior finishes, the replacement of the MEP systems, new life safety systems, and exterior envelope rehabilitation. Modeling of the new mechanical, electrical, and exterior building envelope and simulation software were used to optimize overall building energy performance.
