Updated learning spaces in a historical facility

Hughes STEM High School renovation was completed in 2010 and was the historic preservation of an aging five- story building in need of larger and more efficient learning spaces. The new functional classrooms, labs, and collective learning spaces focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and were designed for students to become life-long learners in a project-based curriculum. The renovations included new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and technology elements. New energy-efficient windows were also designed to fit and receive the historic stained glass panels, allowing the design team to respect the history of the space.
