CR served as the Architect of Record for three new residence halls on Miami University's Western Campus. Partnered with Mackey Mitchell Architects and Whiting-Turner, CR designed this high-profile project, completed in the summer of 2014, which supplied the University with over 700 more beds to accommodate a growing student population. Each new building is approximately 74,000- sf and features open-suite style living space for the residents. This project was the first university project of its kind in Ohio to be completed under the design/build delivery method.
Miami University is a prestigious and historic public university with a formal and traditional heritage. The architecture of the existing buildings on the Main Campus reflects the heritage of this outstanding college. The new residence halls on the Western Campus, acquired by the university in the 70's, acknowledge the formal architecture of Main Campus while evoking a new and unique aesthetic. Blending the old with the new, the new Western Campus residence halls have achieved a LEED Silver certification.
